The Gem Pursuit Podcast is filled with extraordinary stories and accurate historical facts, and is intentionally aimed at a local and international audience.
The global appeal of this podcast (and the experienced team at Courtville) was confirmed after Gem Pursuit was featured as a “must listen” recommendation in the New York Times.
Courtville’s business strategy is to add to its current client base in Ireland and attract customers from America, the UK, and throughout Europe.
To connect directly with a global audience, Courtville uses Gem Pursuit to establish its expertise, sharing amazing stories and discussing the history of jewellery. At the same time, listeners receive invaluable advice on how to build a valuable jewellery collection.
A special piece is something people only purchase a handful of times in their lives. Their investment could be five or six figures, so trust and knowledge are crucial components of any purchase decision.
By building trust and thought leadership, combined with international delivery, this podcast opens up new global markets for Courtville.
Courtville’s owner, Matthew Weldon, is front and centre, sharing generations of family knowledge in each episode.
To create a truly international feel, he is joined by his Australian colleague, Alyce, and French-Canadian researcher, Veronique.
In consultation with Courtville, five targets were agreed upon for the Gem Pursuit Podcast:
Audience feedback, including emails, reviews, and comments on Instagram, has exceeded all expectations. Gem Pursuit has also boosted Courville’s profile with appearances on RTE and Virgin Media television. In addition, as noted earlier, Gem Pursuit was even featured and recommended by The New York Times.
An unexpected benefit is that people now seek out Matthew and Alyce at trade shows around the world because they have heard the Gem Pursuit podcast. They feel as if they know them already, which, of course, was always part of the plan.
We have also been informed that there has been a dramatic increase in visitors (wealthy American tourists in particular) to Courtville’s store at the Powerscourt Townhouse Centre.
“The key result is that when listeners visit our store, I can see they trust us already.
DustPod have vastly improved our recording quality, increased our episodes to fortnightly, and made it all very easy.”

Buildings in Dublin’s city centre, with thin windows and tall ceilings, are not amenable to audio recording!
We helped Courville set up an office recording solution that would never reveal they were in a Georgian building. This has simplified and reduced the time required to create the podcast.
Editorially, we’ve expanded their content to include actuality from international trade shows, visits to museums and jewellery collections and interviews with experts and collectors internationally.
