Airplane is a classic comedy in the great tradition of high school skits or Mad magazine. Surely you can’t be serious. I am and don’t’ call me Shirley. Some people say is is sophomoric, obvious, predictable and corny, but I also found it to be quite often very funny. This humour reminds me of Milton Berle or Abbot & Costello and other black and white greats. Mixed with aviation, it’s a mile high thrill ride.
Alpha is a 2018 American prehistorical adventure film directed by Albert Hughes from an original story by him on which they based the movie. Panda bears, wolves and others are common in this prehistorical world where man is but a cub unable to even cook. Crazy shit happens when a food package from the future is transported back in time to their cave and they can’t open it because they don’t have a scissors. Tank is one of the animal names as they try to make them cute like a Disney movie or similar. Slow time footage across the plain helps set the stage. Kit yourself out with some popcorn and watch this on a big screen for a most unusual retelling of the prehistoric time which any movie has tried to document.
Beta on the other hand is an Indian film which is full of songs. Written by Kamlesh Pandey it is set on the sub-continent in 1992. Fanfare was awarded as it became the highest grossing film of that year. Food is not a big subject of the movie as it is more about how the girls dress. Story ranges from one girl being educated to another cleaning in a university. Warm is the feeling I would use to describe this move so grab some popcorn as you let the storyline digest.
Charlie is the last example of gibberish which is about a young guy who loves to travel and believes in enjoying life to the fullest. He considers life to be a celebration and tries to bring happiness into the lives of the people around him. Tessa is a graphic artist with a sensitive outlook towards life. The film depicts the love story of Charlie and Tessa, and how their love influences the lives of the people around them. It’s lovely and will make you cry at the end.
